The SCSS Pre-symposium Workshop comprises a full day of Lectures (6 Courses), followed by a half-day Hands-on Session, organised in partnership with ThermoFisher Scientific and STEMCELL Technologies.
The lecture series will introduce fundamental concepts of stem cells, encourage scientific thinking, and provide a broad overview of the current research landscape on the topic. In the Hands-on Session, participants will gain practical experience in handling and applying research products and instruments from ThermoFisher Scientific and STEMCELL Technologies.
This workshop is ideal for graduate students, early career researchers, and medical or industry professionals seeking to gain a comprehensive understanding of stem cells and their potential clinical applications.
A separate registration fee applies to the workshop. Workshop registration can only be done in conjunction with registering for the main symposium.
Seats are limited and will be released on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will be closed, once all seats are taken up.

INformation on the Hands-on sessions
Thermo Fisher Scientific
Join us for an immersive workshop by Thermo Fisher Scientific designed to elevate your research with Pluripotent Stem Cells (PSC) from 2D to 3D suspension cultures. This curriculum is tailored for researchers who have mastered 2D PSC culture and ready to explore the benefits of 3D culture for scalable translational research of PSC-derived cell therapies.
It features interactive lectures and hands-on sessions led by Gibco scientists, focusing on advanced techniques for 3D PSC expansion and processing. Participants will also gain practical insights into manufacturing considerations crucial for clinical applications. This is organized through the Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) breakout sessions, which discuss essential parameters for cell manufacturing while showcasing the use of closed, modular automated systems to address cost, scalability, and safety issues.
Enhance your research capabilities by joining this comprehensive workshop. Space is limited - Register early to secure your spot!
