ABSTRACT
The past three decades have witnessed an unprecedented acceleration in the biomedical research, fundamentally transitioning our understanding of human biology from the sequential mapping of isolated genes to the holistic interrogation of complex systems. “Leaps: a reflection on Science and Technology, and the new adventure in Central Asia" offers a personal reflection on this extraordinary scientific epoch. It chronicles a thirty-year journey operating at the vanguard of molecular, cell and disease biology, functional genomics, and institutional capacity building. The narrative traces the early evolution of molecular biology research into cellular and nucleic acids therapeutics. Finally, the discourse navigates toward a dynamic new strategic frontier: the technological and academic renaissance of Central Asia.
